An Idea of How Demons Work

When you think of demons, what do you think of? Hollywood will put a gruesome being in your mind that has the ability to kill you or drag you in human form to hell.

The definition of demon, according to Oxford Dictionary is, “an evil spirit of the devil, especially one thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor in hell.” They are malevolent beings with specific supernatural powers.

They are not omniscient like God is, (no one is) but each one has a certain knowledge pertaining to a specific skill.  Some have knowledge of more than one skill. Their one goal in their world is to seek out humans and deceive them into joining the kingdom of darkness.

1 Peter 5:8

 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Now, make no mistake. This is literally hell. It was designed for Lucifer and his fallen angels to spend their eternity in as punishment for disobeying God's commands and for hating his creation (us) that he wants to destroy us all and take the earth for himself. These demons search out people by watching them and getting to know how they work. Demons have been studying humans since mankind began. They learn how we are as individuals. How we talk, act, react, our strengths and weaknesses, our likes and dislikes.

2 Corinthians 4:4

 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

How Demons Get their Information

There are monitoring spirits who are assigned to specific people to find out certain things and then report back to their higher power. This information is then used to wreak havoc in that person’s life, especially if you do not have God’s protection.

              A demonic attack usually begins with small things like sounds, things missing, negative feelings, or thoughts that are out of nowhere. It can enter your home through an object you bring in, or someone with something attached to them. It will put negative thoughts in your head about a spouse, friend or family member. If you are acting on these thoughts, they will slowly manifest into emotions. For example, if you had a disagreement with your spouse. You then say, “forget it,” walk away and go on about your day. A random negative thought will show up and you’ll be thinking, wait they were rude to me earlier or they never listen to me! That thought turns into a feeling and soon you’re back at them asking them what their problem is, or something similar. Most likely, if you are being attacked, the people in your home are too.

It's important to act so you can protect you and your loved ones

The more negativity that is being fed to this entity the more power it is getting in a way. This can be the beginning of a possession. If the person is susceptible to the demons’ ways and entertains these thoughts and feelings this means the person is coming into agreement with it and the person may not even know they are. Anger, jealousy, depression, and lust are common spirits that take people over and influence them to do things. This will ruin marriages, or any kind of relationship someone has. The enemy is looking to do just this. Demons are quite patient and will take as long as it must, to completely ruin someone’s entire life, seclude them and eventually try and get them to commit suicide or even murder.  

 James 2:19

 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Psalm 34:7-9 NIV

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.  Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.

We all absolutely need God in our lives.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a relationship with God. He wants every one of his children to know him and to be in his grace. He is our only protection from the evil one and his workers and Jesus is the only way to heaven. To live a life separate from God is to set yourself up for an eternity of damnation and open yourself up to the enemy.

 Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

There is a false belief that satan is capable of love and helping people with anything. He is a liar, incapable of anything good. He is a hater of all that is good. When he was banished from heaven he was exiled to earth and wanted it for himself. He tricked the angels that went with him that he would give them kingdoms and treasures on earth. He claimed to be able to grant them their every desire, so they made a pact to leave with him. There was a war in heaven, and he was cast down. He and his angels roam around looking for any and everything they can corrupt and destroy.

Our strength is in The Lord

Revelation 12:7-10

 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.  But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.  The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

They hate innocence, truth, love, goodness, and light. They lurk in the darkness, and steal, hurt and have no regard for anything or anyone. The destruction they can cause is deeper than some of us can fathom. Although, lucifer is powerful, he can’t stand the name of Jesus. He will flee if he is resisted and can’t even enter a home if it is protected by prayer and blessings. When a home is blessed, there are angels that are commanded to guard it and the home’s inhabitants. The darkness cannot compete with the light and lose and fail every time they try another attack. This is basically how the enemy works and a little on how the spiritual fight is happening among us.
